Michelle Hopper

A native South African, Michelle has been performing as a professional dancer for over 16 years. Michelle was a principal with the National Ballet of South Africa (formerly PACT Ballet). She performed in friend with the Australian Ballet, the Royal Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada. Michelle’s training started at age 5 in the RAD, Cecchetti and Vaganova methods. At 12, she won an international scholarship and attended the Royal Academy of Dancing’s Summer Intensive program in London, placing second in her age group. Michelle brings years of knowledge from working with top producers and choreographers like Patricia Neary, Val Caniparoli, Janeck Schergen, Ronald Hynd and David Bintley. Michelle’s performed all the great classics and neo-classical pieces by Balanchine, McMillan and Choo San Goh. After immigrating to the US in 2000, Michelle joined Cirque du Soleil, as a featured character named “La Belle” in the Mystere show in Las Vegas. Michelle performed in this role for seven years before retiring to pursue her next great adventure: inspiring dancers to realize their true potential, mastering technique while learning the art of performance.
